Video visits
Video visits
From your own chair, anywhere in Florida.
Most reviews, and some first sessions, can be done by video. We send you a link by text or email, and it opens in your browser.
We are licensed in Florida, so you need to be in Florida at the time of the visit. If you winter here, that is the months you are here. A family member can join from any state.
A link we send you, with large buttons
A phone call if the internet is down
A family member joins from anywhere

At home
What you need
Less than you might think.
A phone, tablet or computer
With a working camera and speaker. A tablet on a stand is easier than one in your hands.
A quiet place
With good light on your face, and a chair you are comfortable in.
Your bottles
Have them nearby, so we can read a label together if we need to.
Someone to help, if you like
A family member can set up the call with you, or sit beside you.
Limits
What a video visit is not
Some things need you in the room.
A first prescription of a controlled medicine
The law decides when this can follow a video visit, and we tell you what applies before the visit.
A visit from outside Florida
We cannot see you while you are in another state.
A crisis line
If this cannot wait, call or text 988, or call 911.
If it fails
After a storm, or when the internet drops
It happens on Cape Coral canals as much as anywhere.
Call the office
Call (239) 555-0104. If the video will not connect, we can often switch to a phone visit for that day, if your prescriber agrees it is enough.
We hold your time
A dropped connection is not a missed visit. We try again, or move the visit, without a late fee.
Questions
Questions about video visits
Are you licensed where I live?
We are licensed in Florida. A video visit needs you to be in Florida at the time of the visit, which is the months you are here if you spend part of the year elsewhere. Your family member can join from any state.
Do you prescribe controlled medicine by video?
Not on a first video visit. Some medicines for sleep, anxiety and attention are controlled by federal and Florida law, and the rules for video change. We tell you what applies to you before the visit, and we never prescribe a controlled medicine from a message.
Can a family member join my visit?
Yes, in the room, by video or by phone, if you say so. You choose who joins and can ask them to step out at any point. A written permission comes first, and your summary goes to them only if you say so.
